Offer Description

We are recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to investigate gene regulation in Schwann cell biology, with a focus on demyelinating disorders, cancer and nerve repair. You will join a multidisciplinary team of computational, molecular and cellular biologists under the supervision of Dr Ashwin Woodhoo at CiMUS, a María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence.

The role

- Analyse single-cell and bulk transcriptomic and epigenomic data to contribute to ongoing research projects.
- Work closely with experimental researchers to interpret findings in their biological context.
- Supervise BSc and MSc students, with the possibility of co-supervising PhD students.

Skills/Qualifications

- A PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience analysing omics data, including bulk and single-cell RNA‑seq and epigenomic assays such as ATAC‑seq, ChIP‑seq or CUT&RUN.;
- Proficiency in R and/or Python, and Bash scripting.
- Hands‑on experience with high‑performance computing (HPC) environments.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Running standardised workflows, such as nf‑core/Nextflow pipelines and Singularity containers, on SLURM‑based HPC clusters.
- Analysis and interpretation of ribosome profiling (Ribo‑seq) data.
