Overview

In this role you will lead the migration of a legacy Java application to Spring Boot, modernizing the architecture for scalability and performance. You will join a cross-functional team working on OptiFlight, an initiative aimed at improving sustainability and daily operations for aircraft. You’ll collaborate with machine learning engineers to integrate predictive models and support data-driven decision making. You will design, build, and review high-quality Java/Spring Boot solutions while mentoring peers and upholding coding standards. This position offers the chance to shape a large-scale, distributed system in a forward-thinking aeronautics context.

Responsabilidades
- Lead migration of legacy Java application to Spring Boot to improve scalability and maintainability
- Collaborate with ML team to integrate predictive models into the system
- Architect and develop high-performance Java/Spring Boot applications following best practices
- Work with cross-functional teams to align solutions with business goals
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers




- Troubleshoot complex issues ensuring availability, reliability, and security
- Stay current with new technologies and improve development processes
- Participate in requirements, design, and effort estimation for projects

Requisitos principales
- 8+ years in software engineering with strong Java development experience
- Proficiency in Java 8+, Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC), Hibernate, Elasticsearch, JUnit, Gradle/Maven
- Experience with microservices and RESTful APIs
- Solid understanding of design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean coding
- Experience with Elasticsearch indexing, querying, and performance optimization
- Relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL (MongoDB) familiarity a plus
- Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Knowledge of Flyway or Liquibase is a plus
- Experience migrating legacy apps and working on large-scale distributed systems
