I Pronics is seeking a highly skilled, hands-on and motivated Senior Firmware Engineer with experience in optical modules and excellent knowledge of relevant hardware to join our rapidly growing team. In this role, you will work on the design and development of firmware for our optical amplification modules that form part of i Pronics optical circuit switching solutions. You will collaborate closely with hardware and embedded system engineers to ensure our optical modules meet requirements for large-scale deployment in AI and datacenter applications.You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment developing at the forefront of optical technology.Responsibilities: Design and develop deploy and maintain embedded firmwareImplement control algorithms, state machines, peripheral control and host interaction featuresCreate firmware test processes and perform functional and robustness testingCollaborate with optical, hardware and validation teams to improve firmwareSupport hardware bring-up, system integration and root-cause analysis of complex issuesDevelop and maintain firmware architecture, diagnostics and monitoring capabilitiesParticipate in design reviews and contribute to hardware/firmware co-design decisionsImplement development processes and practices to ensure code reusability and readability as well as product performanceMaintain accurate and up-to-date firmware documentation Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware development, particularly developing firmware for optical modules, transceivers, amplifiers,



telecom systems or datacenter networking productsProficiency with hardware analysis tools such as oscilloscopes, dataloggers, protocal analyzers, JTAG debuggers.Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems, Git version control and Python for test automation, debugging and data analysisProficient with both Windows and Linux OSExperience with board bring-up, hardware validation and debugging using JTAG/SWDExperience developing firmware using RTOS frameworks such as Free RTOS or ZephyrExcellent understanding of hardware/firmware integration and digital interfaces such as I2 C, SPI, UART, ADCs, DMA, DACs, microcontrollers, current drivers and sensor interfaces.Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit design and hardware fundamentalsExperience with control loops (e.G. PID controllers), optical signal monitoring, diagnostics, TEC control, interrupt-driven architectures and fault managementStrong problem-solving, communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsHands-on experience with optical comms lab tools such as optical power meters, sampling oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and fiber components.
