Merck seeks a Senior Scientific Poultry Technician to lead technical and scientific strategy for the Animal Health Poultry Unit in Spain. The role combines field support (50% travel), client relationship management, and integration of data analytics and AI tools to optimize hatchery processes and animal health outcomes.

Responsibilities

- Develop and implement technical and scientific strategy for the Poultry Unit in collaboration with sales, marketing, and integral teams
- Establish strategic relationships with key opinion leaders and drive post-authorization studies and scientific publications
- Conduct comprehensive technical audits at commercial hatcheries to optimize chick viability and quality
- Design and deliver tailored technical training for marketing and sales teams; support digital omnichannel initiatives




- Apply AI and predictive analytics to correlate historical incubation data with farm health outcomes and automate field reporting

Requirements

- University degree in Sciences; Veterinary degree strongly preferred
- Demonstrated technical experience in poultry sector, commercial incubators, or veterinary biologics
- Fluent Spanish and English, written and spoken, with strong scientific communication skills
- Proven customer focus and technical-commercial relationship management at field level
- Strategic thinking, business acumen, and project planning capabilities
- Familiarity or interest in data analysis tools, CRM platforms, and AI-based solutions
- Availability to travel approximately 50% within Spain
