SENIOR ART DIRECTOR Working in direct partnership with a leading European pet care client (part of a major international food group), the Senior Art Director will lead the visual craft, conceptual design, and art direction for four iconic pet care brands. Embedded within our dedicated on-site agency hub in Barcelona, you will partner closely with a Senior Copywriter to form a powerhouse conceptual creative duo. Working directly with the client's Global Brand Teams, your focus will be upstream and platform-defining: translating global strategy into arresting visual ideas, distinct brand identities, hero campaign assets, and comprehensive integral master toolkits designed for worldwide impact. This role is built for a visually ambitious, craft-obsessed Art Director who thrives on conceptual storytelling, setting high aesthetic standards, and creating campaigns that celebrate the bond between pets and pet parents globally. Partner with the Senior Copywriter to ideate, craft, and pitch big, multi-channel campaign platforms and visual territories for global briefs. Global master toolkits & guidelines: Architect and design comprehensive visual master toolkits, campaign playbooks, photography and motion style guides, and design systems for global rollouts. Direct and craft high-end visual executions across the full campaign ecosystem, including brand films, digital and social activations, key visuals, print, packaging touchpoints, and retail/POS. Art direction & shoot leadership: Provide visual direction on film and photography shoots, collaborating with production partners, directors, photographers, and retouchers to bring creative concepts to life.



Comfort producing static images and videos with the help of different AI platforms is expected. Present visual concepts, design rationale, and art direction territories directly to the client's Integral Brand Directors and marketing leads with clarity and conviction. Brand guardianship: Ensure visual consistency, premium craft, and distinct identity separation across each of the four unique pet food brands. Collaborate with and mentor designers, artworkers, and junior creatives, elevating the overall design and art direction benchmark across the studio.

Experience:
6+ years of art direction and conceptual design experience within top-tier advertising agencies, design studios, or dedicated creative setups. Portfolio: An outstanding portfolio showcasing big-idea conceptual thinking, integrated global campaigns, impeccable typography, and modern digital and visual craft. Experience working on FMCG, CPG, Pet Care, or lifestyle brands is highly desirable. Experience developing distinct visual worlds for multiple brands within a single portfolio is a strong plus. Global campaign scope: Demonstrated experience building global master toolkits, key visuals, and multi-market design systems (beyond local production and adaptation). Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma. Experience with motion graphics and video editing tools (After Effects, Premiere Pro) or 3D/AI creative tools is a distinct advantage. Proven success working collaboratively in an Art Director / Copywriter team setup, with a proactive, solution-oriented approach. Professional working fluency in Spanish and English is essential, as these are the working languages for both local and global briefs, and for the day-to-day relationship with the client team in Barcelona.
