Experteer Overview
As Director, Integral Software Development you will steer the Straumann Digital Platform, delivering a scalable cloud-based backbone for our digital dentistry ecosystem. You’ll lead a distributed engineering organization, aligning strategy with roadmaps, architecture, and delivery. You’ll embed quality, security, and regulatory requirements while shaping practices for growth, automation, and AI-enabled development. This is a high-impact role partnering with cross-functional teams to drive reliable, compliant software for patients and clinicians.

• Lead end-to-end development and delivery of the Straumann Digital Platform with measurable outcomes
• Develop and manage distributed engineering teams with clear accountability and cross-location collaboration
• Partner with architecture to evolve secure, modular, scalable platform architecture
• Strengthen practices in cloud development, DevOps, CI/CD, test automation, observability, API integration, and secure-by-design development
• Balance near-term product priorities with long-term platform sustainability, managing technical debt
• Embed cybersecurity, privacy, and regulatory requirements into engineering practices including medical-device standards
• Improve delivery predictability, platform reliability, and engineering productivity via metrics




• Develop engineering managers and technical leaders to support future growth
• Champion automation and AI-assisted development and modern engineering tools
• Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and investment needs to senior stakeholders

Responsabilidades
• Significant experience leading distributed software engineering teams in a complex environment
• Strong experience with software platforms, cloud-based architectures, enterprise software, or connected digital ecosystems
• Experience in regulated or quality-critical environments (medical devices, healthcare, automotive, aerospace, or financial services)
• Understanding of modern software engineering approaches (DevOps, CI/CD, test automation, cybersecurity, cloud operations, API integration)
• Proven track record of improving software delivery, quality, collaboration, and engineering effectiveness
• Experience developing teams, leaders, and organizational capabilities
• Ability to communicate technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong business perspective connecting technology investments to customer value, scalability, quality, compliance, and lifecycle considerations
• Nice to have: IEC 62304 or ISO 13485-aligned quality systems, AI-enabled development, or scaling platform engineering
