As a Principal OHL Engineer, you will lead overhead line design efforts within our Transmission u0026amp; Distribution team on technically challenging projects up to 400 kV. You will provide technical support across multi-discipline programs, shape feasible layouts, and ensure code-compliant designs. You’ll engage with clients, support proposals, and contribute during project implementation and public consultations. • Provide technical support for overhead line design on complex multi-discipline projects
• Contribute to large programmes of work such as GGP projects
• Assist in writing proposals detailing timeline, resources, budget, objectives and goals
• Provide input throughout project implementation, statutory planning and public consultation events
• Lead design activities for overhead lines, including PLS-CADD modelling, routing, and structural/load analyses
• Develop design criteria,



sag-tension calculations, damper/system recommendations, and clearance reports
• Select conductors/insulators and perform feasibility studies and conductor thermal ratings to ensure standards compliance
• Originate and check engineering deliverables (designs, reports, proposals, drawings) and perform internal QA of drawings and calculations

Responsabilidades
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical)
• Experience delivering transmission projects for operators like National Grid, SSE, REE
• Overhead line engineering experience up to 400 kV
• Chartered or Professional Engineer status preferred
• Proven ability to coordinate across disciplines and review technical outputs
