As our European platform continues its ambitious growth journey through both organic expansion and strategic acquisitions, we're looking for an experienced Senior Risk & Compliance Officer to join our European team.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of a multinational business, partnering with senior leaders and local compliance teams across multiple jurisdictions to strengthen governance, navigate regulatory change, and support strategic M&A; activity.

The Opportunity

As Senior Risk & Compliance Officer, you'll play a key role in overseeing risk and compliance activities across a diverse portfolio of European insurance businesses.

Working closely with local Risk & Compliance Officers and Platform leadership, you'll help ensure regulatory requirements are met, risks are effectively managed, and best practices are shared across the Group.

You'll also support one of the most exciting aspects of our growth strategy: evaluating and integrating new businesses through mergers and acquisitions across Europe.

What You'll Be Doing

Regulatory Advisory & Oversight

- Provide expert guidance on European insurance regulation, including IDD, DORA, AML/CTF and GDPR requirements.
- Monitor and interpret regulatory developments across multiple European jurisdictions.
- Support business leaders and local compliance teams in implementing regulatory changes effectively.
- Act as a trusted advisor on compliance and conduct risk matters.
- Support the ongoing development and enhancement of the European risk management framework.




- Help maintain and oversee the Platform's risk appetite and governance arrangements.
- Prepare risk and compliance reporting for senior management and board-level committees.
- Ensure policies, controls and compliance documentation remain robust and up to date.

European Stakeholder Management

- Act as a key relationship partner for Risk & Compliance Officers across selected European businesses.
- Provide challenge, guidance and support on risk management, compliance monitoring and control effectiveness.
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing and promote best practice across the Group's European operations.
- Coordinate responses to cross-border regulatory enquiries and reviews.

Mergers & Acquisitions

- Participate in regulatory and compliance due diligence for acquisition opportunities.
- Assess licensing arrangements, compliance frameworks and regulatory risks of target businesses.
- Contribute to due diligence reports and risk assessments for senior stakeholders.
- Support post-acquisition integration activities, ensuring businesses are embedded into the Group's compliance framework.

Culture & Capability

- Champion a positive risk and compliance culture across the organisation.
- Support the development of training and awareness initiatives.
- Partner with business teams on new initiatives, products and change programmes to ensure compliance considerations are embedded from the outset.

What We're Looking For

- 7+ years' experience in risk, compliance or regulatory oversight within the insurance sector.
- Experience working within a regulated insurance intermediary, broker, MGA, insurer or distribution platform operating in Europe.
- Strong knowledge of the Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD)



and broader European regulatory frameworks.
- Experience engaging directly with regulators and national competent authorities.
- Proven experience operating across multiple jurisdictions and managing differing regulatory requirements.
- Exposure to compliance and regulatory due diligence within M&A; transactions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

We'd Love It If You Also Have

- A professional qualification in law, risk or compliance (LLB, LLM, ICA, ACII or equivalent).
- Experience across multiple European markets, including France, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland, Greece or Turkey.
- Experience within a group or platform oversight function.
- Familiarity with governance, compliance and risk management systems.
