About the company An early-stage, well-funded digital health company building a regulated AI platform for personalised healthcare, starting with pregnancy and women's health.
Their aim is to spot pregnancy risks earlier and change how maternity care is delivered across the UK, US and beyond.
They've raised £10m+ from leading general health funders, which gives them around three years of runway.
The leadership team brings together clinical, technical and entrepreneurial experience, including a successful digital health exit and leadership of a major international maternal health research programme.
The Senior Machine Learning Engineer role You'll be one of the first ML engineers, working with the Head of AI to shape how machine learning is built, validated and deployed in a regulated medical product.
It's a hands-on role for someone who enjoys getting models into production and backing them with rigorous evidence.
What you'll do
Build clinical prediction and personalisation models on real-world health data
Own the MLOps foundations: data pipelines, experiment tracking, model registry, controlled release and monitoring
Design evaluation and validation that stands up to clinical and regulatory scrutiny (calibration, subgroup performance, drift)
Produce the model evidence for Class I/II medical software (ISO 13485, IEC 62304, ISO 14971)
Develop safe, useful GenAI and RAG features where they add clinical value
What you'll bring
Strong experience shipping production ML in Python, with solid software engineering habits
Hands-on MLOps on a major cloud platform
Experience working with sensitive health data, ideally in a regulated or clinical setting
Clear communication with clinicians, product and regulatory colleagues
Particularly valuable: women's health or pregnancy, clinical prediction, digital therapeutics, wearables, FHIR, or taking regulated products from the UK to the US.
Meaningful influence on an AI function at an early stage, not an inherited system
A mission with real clinical impact
Remote-first working and a highly experienced leadership team
This Senior Machine Learning Engineer role is paying £100,000 to £130,000 + equity.
