The Role Are you ready to use your SCADA and controls expertise to help shape the performance of utility-scale battery storage projects?

We are looking for a hands-on BESS SCADA Engineer based in Madrid to join our SCADA team. In this role, you will be the technical specialist for the monitoring, control and communications systems across our BESS and hybrid plants, working across SCADA, EMS and wider plant interfaces to make sure systems are integrated, commissioned and operating reliably.

You will support new BESS projects through FAT, SAT, commissioning and handover, while also acting as a technical escalation point for complex operational issues. This will involve diagnosing problems across SCADA, EMS, BMS, PCS, PPC, PLC/RTU, networks and grid interfaces, working closely with Project Management, Engineering & Construction, Asset Management, O&M;, the BESS Centre of Excellence and technology partners to identify root causes and see issues through to resolution. You will also help improve our technical standards, testing processes and approach to integrating new BESS and hybrid assets into our central monitoring and control platforms.

Desirable skills:

- Hands-on experience with utility-scale BESS, EMS and SCADA systems, including a strong understanding of BESS architecture, controls and system interfaces
- Proven experience supporting FAT, SAT, commissioning, functional testing and handover of BESS projects, with strong fault-finding and root-cause analysis capability
- Strong knowledge of industrial communications and OT environments, including protocols such as Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC UA, IEC 60870-5-104, IEC 61850 and DNP3, alongside practical networking and cybersecurity knowledge
- Ability to work across suppliers and internal teams to solve complex technical issues, challenge designs and requirements, and communicate findings and actions clearly
- Degree or equivalent professional experience in Electrical, Electronic, Control, Automation, Computer or Systems Engineering,



with fluent technical English; experience across multiple BESS/EMS/SCADA technologies, hybrid PV-BESS projects, N3uron, and Italian or French would be advantageous
