OverviewSenior Space On-Board Software Engineer to join Airbus Defence and Space Getafe/D Madrid, leading software architecture for state-of-the-art satellites.

You will work within a multidisciplinary space software team delivering platform and instrument software for flagship Spanish missions, including the LSTM Copernicus satellite.

You'll drive end-to-end software engineering, integration, and verification, collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure robust, traceable solutions.

ResponsabilidadesLead SW Architecture & Direct Customer Interface as software architect for the program

Design, develop and integrate unit-level functions within the Astrobus NEO infrastructure

Ensure documentation and traceability of requirements across the lifecycle

Execute end-to-end SW engineering cycle:



specifications, design, code, tests, interfaces

Validate and deliver SW modules for final system integration

Support System Integrity & FDIR for all developed units

Requisitos principalesBachelor in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications, or related discipline

Minimum 5 years of space software engineering experience

Advanced English (B2/C1) and Spanish (C2/Native)

Deep knowledge of SW ECSS standards and requirements management

Proficiency in C and either Java, Python, or TypeScript/Node.js

Experience with DOORS, Eclipse, Jenkins; familiarity with space data interfaces (RangeDB)

Effective communication with executives and clients

Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset

High adaptability and continuous learning attitude

ECSS standards and requirements management

Spacecraft unit behavior modeling

C programming plus Java/Python/TypeScript/Node.js
