We are currently seeking a seasoned AP & Accounting Lead to direct and safeguard the financial backbone of our Barcelona campus. Positioned as a critical, second-in-command role within the finance department, this is a highly hands-on mandate designed for a resilient and meticulous professional accustomed to the rigors of a demanding, fast-paced corporate environment.
The successful candidate will bring a minimum of three years of managerial experience, offering strategic oversight of the full Accounts Payable cycle, ensuring stringent tax compliance, and managing daily financial operations with executive-level precision.
Main Responsibilities

- Digital Transformation: Proactively assess and identify opportunities for automation and process optimization within the accounting framework to drive long-term institutional efficiency.
- Departmental Stewardship: Cultivate a high-performing and accountable environment by mentoring team members, managing performance, and fostering continuous professional growth.
2)
Financial Operations & Compliance
-
- Full-Cycle Accounting: Execute month-end and year-end closing procedures with absolute precision, safeguarding the comprehensive integrity of the General Ledger.
- Accounts Payable Governance: Oversee and validate supplier invoice processing via Sage X3, enforcing rigorous adherence to approval workflows and maintaining highly accurate aging reports.
- Fiscal Compliance & Audit Oversight: Manage all corporate tax obligations and facilitate external audit requirements, ensuring strict alignment with the Spanish PGC (Plan General Contable) and internal corporate regulations.
- Payroll & Treasury: Co-lead daily treasury operations—including cash flow monitoring and bank reconciliations—and accurately execute complex accounting entries for payroll.
3) Data Integrity & Corporate Governance
-
- Advanced Analytical Modelling: Utilize complex Excel frameworks to architect structured financial reports, delivering reliable, data-driven insights to facilitate executive decision-making.
- Policy Enforcement: Uphold and enforce all internal corporate governance standards, serving as the primary authority on company regulations regarding employee travel and expense management.
- Cross-Functional Continuity:
Act as a comprehensive financial partner by providing essential, hands-on support to the Accounts Receivable (AR) department as needed, ensuring total operational coverage and departmental synergy.
About You
-
- Experience: A minimum of 3-4 years in AP and Accounting (with at least 2-3 years directly executing monthly/yearly closures), including supervisory or leadership roles.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional patience, steadfast resilience, and a highly analytical mindset are mandatory to successfully navigate the demanding workload of this role.
- Education: University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced command of Sage X3 and Excel (complex formulas, data modelling, and pivot tables) is strictly required.
- Language Skills: Full professional proficiency in English (corporate language) and Spanish (regulatory and supplier interactions).

- Remuneration: A gross salary of up to €40,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
