At Capitole, we’re looking for a Backstage Engineer to join an international project for a leading German company in the automotive sector.

We’re looking for someone with strong hands-on Backstage experience who enjoys building, integrating and evolving developer platforms in a large-scale enterprise environment.

What you’ll be doing

- Develop and enhance features and UI components within Backstage.
- Build and maintain custom Backstage plugins and integrations with external systems.
- Work with TypeScript, JavaScript and React to deliver scalable and reusable solutions.
- Design and implement integrations through REST APIs and asynchronous processes.
- Contribute to the architecture, scalability and continuous evolution of the platform.




- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and help improve platform quality, security and reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering, UX and other stakeholders across an international environment.

What we’re looking for

- Around 5+ years of experience in software development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Backstage, including plugin development, integrations or platform customization.
- Strong knowledge of TypeScript and JavaScript.
- Experience working with REST APIs and system integrations.
- Good knowledge of React.
- Experience with AWS.
- Good understanding of system architecture and experience working in enterprise IT environments.

Nice to have

- Experience with Node.js, which will be highly valued.
- Experience with Kubernetes and AWS Lambda.
- Experience integrating tools such as SonarQube or other quality, security and monitoring solutions.
- Experience contributing to Backstage architecture or implementations from scratch.

Schedule: 40h/week, flexible schedule with reduced hours on Fridays
