Purpose & Background

Start your engineering career at Avire. As a recent graduate in Electronic Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering, you'll work alongside experienced engineers developing embedded software and electronics that help keep millions of people safe worldwide.

Working in a highly collaborative international environment, you will be part of small, close-knit project teams, made up of engineers from our sites in Barcelona and Maidenhead (UK).

We are at the forefront of developing emergency communications systems and other safety products for the building services industry, with a particular focus on high-rise buildings and the elevator industry. Your work will be critical to ensure that building occupants, especially those who are less mobile and people with disabilities, are protected and able to communicate in the event of emergencies such as fires in tall buildings.

You'll play a key role in researching new technologies and developing our next generation of products and services. What will you be doing?

- Design and develop products throughout the entire electronics lifecycle, both hardware and firmware. Approximately 20% of your development work will be focused on hardware and 80% on embedded software.
- Develop embedded C firmware for a variety of microcontrollers, including STM32 and i.MX RT platforms.
- Explore the use of new hardware platforms (e.g., ESP32) and software languages and operating systems (e.g., FreeRTOS and Zephyr) for future applications.




- You will develop automated testing scripts and interact with hardware using C# and Python.
- Support the creation of a strong pipeline of ideas that solve real customer problems, providing insights into market opportunities through customer analysis, market research, competitor research, etc.
- Work with the supply chain to ensure components and any outsourced designs meet requirements.
- Ensure that products are designed for manufacture and work closely with our production teams in the Czech Republic and the USA to ensure adequate production capacity, including the specification and development of production testing procedures and equipment.
- Support the investigation of non-conformities and other quality issues.
- Manage and coordinate engineering changes and ensure that a detailed design record is maintained.
- Participate in field assessments and other market research to ensure that Avire maintains its position as a market leader within our target segments.

Qualifications & Experience





- To be considered for this position, you must be in your final year of study or have recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering.
- English proficiency: B2 level or above.
