Experteer Overview In this Staff AI Engineer role, you own end-to-end AI capabilities in a large, multi-system environment, shaping how AI functions are designed, evaluated, integrated, and governed. You will set technical direction, drive evidence-based go/no-go decisions, and collaborate with multiple teams to deliver secure, auditable AI-driven automation. You address production-scale challenges, including data flows, human-in-the-loop, and risk management, ensuring measurable and defendable outcomes for customers and regulators. The position offers hands-on work, mentorship, and the chance to influence AI roadmap and security controls across the organization. - Specify use-case specifications for each AI function, including inputs, behavior, success criteria, failure modes, and human decision points
- Design and execute evaluation approaches using golden datasets, safety metrics, drift monitoring, and evaluation at scale
- Make go/no-go decisions at all deployment stages and escalate unresolved disagreements
- Architect AI data flows, data retention for audit, and human-in-the-loop placements
- Own AI threat modeling and controls against prompt injection, data leakage, and unsafe actions; lead incident responses




- Coordinate with AI technology provider on quality, model changes, and defect handling
- Set engineering standards for AI use, data handling, code provenance, licenses, and secrets
- Lead and mentor engineers across teams while staying hands-on with data, evaluations, and code reviewResponsabilidades
- 10+ years in software engineering
- Proven production experience with LLM-based or ML-based features
- AI evaluation expertise (correctness, safety metrics, offline/online evaluation, drift monitoring)
- Experience in integration architecture and data flow design
- AI security experience including threat modeling and controls
- Vulnerability management knowledge (advisories, CVEs, SBOMs, remediation)
- Strong specification writing for acceptance criteria
- Production-quality coding in Python, Go, Java, or Rust
- Technical leadership without direct authority; effective cross-team influence
