OverviewIn this role you will help New Relic understand how users interact with classic interfaces and agentic surfaces, turning behavioral data into adaptive models.

You will work on a greenfield Personalization project, shaping how user segments and behavioral models are exposed across surfaces.

The role combines backend services, streaming data, and AI-assisted development to scale personalized experiences.

You'll collaborate across teams to align architecture with the company's observability mission and AI-first strategy.

ResponsabilidadesBuild, maintain, and scale backend services and Kafka-based streaming pipelines in AWS

Design microservices and APIs to expose user segments and behavioral models

Turn behavioral signals into platform-ready segments and models

Utilize AI coding assistants in the engineering workflow for code generation, review, and troubleshooting





Participate in architectural discussions and assess approaches for moderately scoped problems

Build, deploy, rollback, and operate team software, with active on-call participation

Automate operational processes to improve resilience and ease of operation

Provide feedback and engage in engineering communities of practice

Requisitos principalesProficient in Java, able to develop end-to-end features with minimal assistance

Experience building Kafka-based streaming pipelines in AWS environments

Experience with distributed systems, concurrency, scaling, and asynchronous programming

Active experience using AI coding assistants and agents in day-to-day workflow

Collaborative work style with shared code ownership

Ability to navigate ambiguity with an iterative mindset and align with architectural direction

Proficiency in English collaborative problem-solving adaptability
