· Part-time, with potential to grow to full-time About Klara AI Klara AI is a digital banking platform for women: AI conversational banking, payment accounts, cards and Open Banking, with a B2C app and a B2B web app.
We launched in summer ***
* and operate through licensed partners (BaaS, card processing, Mastercard).
The team is ~30 people across Europe, LatAm and Central Asia.
The role You'll be our first in-house legal person, the go-to for contracts, policies, corporate housekeeping, IP and partner due diligence.
You'll handle most legal work yourself and bring in external counsel only when a matter really needs it.
You'll work closely with our AML Compliance Officer.
The role starts part-time (~20 h/week), with potential to grow to full-time as the company grows and we move toward our own licence.
From day one Update and maintain company policies, Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, together with our AML Compliance Officer Draft, review and negotiate contracts: contractor agreements, NDAs, partner and vendor agreements Maintain contract templates and keep contractor agreements consistent, including IP assignment and confidentiality terms Manage our trademark applications: track progress, meet deadlines, work with the filing firm Handle incoming legal requests from the team and find practical solutions Prepare and complete due diligence questionnaires from banks,



payment partners and investors Keep corporate documents in order: registration documents, resolutions, powers of attorney, UBO information Maintain legal registers: contracts, contractors, entities and key deadlines Coming in the next 3-4 months As the role grows, you'll take on: Running our own due diligence on new partners and vendors Supporting data protection work: processing records, data processing agreements, vendor checks Light corporate support for our Latvian and US entities (main activity goes through the Spanish entity) Broader IP protection as the brand grows What we're looking for Law degree and 3+ years of legal experience at European companies or law firms, ideally fintech, payments, banking or startups Hands-on contract drafting and negotiation in English Working knowledge of EU corporate and commercial law; GDPR basics Self-sufficient: you can handle a wide range of legal matters without a team of specialists behind you Organised: you keep registers, deadlines and document trails clean without being asked A solution-finder.
