AProject Controlleris responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and managing project or operational costs to ensure that expenditures remain within approved budgets.
The role involves preparing cost reports, forecasting expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and supporting financial planning to improve profitability and financial efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and control project or operational costs against approved budgets.
Prepare and maintaincost reports, forecasts, and variance analysis.
Track expenses and analyze deviations betweenactual costs and planned budgets.
Work closely with project managers, procurement, and finance teams to ensure cost efficiency.
Review purchase orders, invoices,



and contracts to ensure proper cost allocation.
Assist in the preparation ofproject budgets and financial plans.
Identify potentialcost overrunsand recommend corrective actions.
Maintain cost control systems and financial documentation.
Support financial audits by providing relevant cost data and reports.
Analyze historical data to improve future cost estimates.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree inEngineering, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
Proven experience incost control, budgeting, or financial analysis(typically 2–5 years).
Strong knowledge offinancial reporting and cost management techniques.
Proficiency inMicrosoft Excel and financial management systems.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Skills
Experience withERP systems(SAP, Oracle, etc.).
Knowledge ofproject management and cost estimation methods.
Ability to interpret financial data and present insights clearly.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
