Position Overview
TheVDC Engineerplays a key role in supporting virtual construction needs acrossPreconstruction, Construction Operations, and Consulting/Litigation Support Services.
This role requires aself-motivated, adaptable, and dedicatedprofessional who thrives on taking on new challenges.
The VDC Engineer is apower user of Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) softwareand works closely with teams todevelop, refine, and implement Building Information Models (BIM)and other digital construction technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and coordinate3D object-oriented modelsfor construction projects
Create5D visual simulationsby integratingBIM+TIME+COSTusingNavisworks or Synchro
Performclash detectionsto identify and resolve design conflicts
Conduct3D scanningusingTrimble 3D scannersandlayout workwithTrimble Robotic Total Station
Processjob cost data, model-based quantity reports, and as-built project control informationfor risk analysis and historical reference
Generateformwork, concrete lift, and placement drawingsforhorizontal and vertical control
SupportPreconstruction and Business Developmentteams by producingphotorealistic imageryusingArtlantis and other rendering engines
Manageproject documents, includingRFIs, submittals, PCOs, and Notices of Change (NOC)
Process andregister raw 3D point cloud scan filesusingTrimble REALWORKS, Scene, Rythm, or similar software




Produceas-built modelsfrom scan files usingTEKLA Structures or equivalent software
Convert and refine3D model files or scanned point cloudsto create3D printable objectsusingMaterialise Magics and SpaceClaim
Conductconstructability and completeness reviewsand issue/manageRFIs
Assist in additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors
Qualifications
Bachelors degreein Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
2+ yearsof experience in thebuilding or design industrypreferred but not required
Understanding ofVDC and BIM concepts
Exposure to and preliminary experience withBIM softwaresuch as:Autodesk Revit
Bentley
Vico Constructor
TEKLA
Synchro
Navisworks
SketchUp
Or similar software suites
High proficiency inMS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and BlueBeam
Strongorganizational skills,attention to detail, andability to work in a collaborative environment
Creative thinker with aproactive and adaptable mindset
