Experteer Overview As Head of Surety Underwriting Spain, you will lead the ramp-up of Munich Re's surety operations in Spain and shape the local strategy in line with global objectives.
You will build and mentor a high-performing underwriting team, represent the company in the market, and develop a sustainable, profitable portfolio.
This role combines entrepreneurial thinking with disciplined underwriting and cross-functional collaboration.
You will engage with brokers, clients, and industry stakeholders to strengthen Munich Re's market position in Italy and Spain.

• Minimum 10 years' experience in surety underwriting, credit insurance, or banking
• University graduate or equivalent education
• Strong knowledge of surety products, financial analysis, and credit risk assessment
• Proven track record in originating, structuring, and underwriting surety transactions
• Strong understanding of financial markets, credit risk, and capital instruments
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to develop tailored solutions for complex client needs
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Fluency in English and Spanish; additional European languages (e.g. German or Italian) are a plus
• Willingness to travel and experience in international/cross-cultural environments
