Data & AI has a broad and strategic role within ING, providing data capabilities and services across the bank. Our ambition is to make Data & AI a key enabler of a truly data-driven organisation, helping the bank make better decisions, operate more effectively and meet its regulatory responsibilities. Your mission will be to define and drive the technology strategy for Data & AI, connecting business priorities, data architecture, engineering excellence and regulatory requirements into a coherent and executable roadmap. You will lead a diverse ecosystem spanning data products and banking services, financial risk analytics, advanced analytics, data governance, customer data, regulatory and fraud reporting, Big Data capabilities and informational platforms. You will guide the evolution towards cloud-based data platforms, working closely with global teams and ensuring the required levels of integration, security, privacy and compliance. As a strategic technology leader, you will foster collaboration, accountability, innovation and craftsmanship while keeping Data & AI platforms resilient, compliant, scalable and fit for the future. Your

key responsibilities
Reporting to the Channels, Customer and Data IT Lead, as IT Area Lead of Data & AI you will be responsible for: Driving the Data & AI Technology Strategy •Define and execute the Data & AI technology strategy, translating long-term ambitions into a clear roadmap, priorities and milestones. •Act as the Data & AI SPOC for VISTA in Spain, driving its adoption and growth and ensuring alignment between local priorities and ING’s future data platform. •Accelerate AI adoption across the bank, enabling the development and scaling of AI capabilities and use cases while connecting business opportunities, technology and global AI strategy. Leading the Data & AI Platform Landscape •Provide strategic direction across data products, analytics, customer data, reporting, governance and the platforms supporting the bank. •Drive simplification, standardisation and scalability across the data architecture and platform landscape. •Ensure platform modernisation and cloud adoption meet integration, security, privacy and compliance requirements. Ensuring Resilience and Operational Excellence •Ensure the stability, availability and performance of critical data platforms and lead the response to major incidents when required. •Drive operational excellence, platform optimisation and efficiency across the Data & AI landscape. •Promote engineering excellence, automation and sustainable lifecycle management across teams and platforms. Strengthening Data Governance and Compliance •Ensure Data & AI platforms and practices meet applicable data management, privacy and regulatory requirements. •Partner with Architecture, Security, Risk, Compliance and Data Governance to embed controls into strategy and delivery. •Promote strong data ownership, quality, traceability and appropriate use across the organisation.



Driving Transformation and Change •Lead major transformations across the Data & AI landscape, balancing strategic ambition with organisational readiness. •Translate complex transformations into clear and manageable steps for managers and teams. •Drive the adoption of new Data & AI platforms and capabilities, evolving ways of working and supporting the organisation through change. Leadership and Culture •Lead a large and diverse organisation of approximately 100 people, including experienced engineering managers and professionals with different backgrounds and ambitions. •Develop managers and teams, strengthening leadership, capabilities, succession and engineering craftsmanship. •Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, transparency, continuous improvement and Orange Behaviours. Strategic Alignment and Financial Management •Build strong partnerships across Tech, business and control functions, aligning Data & AI priorities with the bank’s strategic objectives. •Represent Data & AI in senior and integral forums, managing dependencies and alignment with ING Hubs and global teams. •Manage budget, sourcing and strategic partners, ensuring investments support priorities while driving efficiency and long-term sustainability.
