Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer on the APM UI team, you will shape Kibana's UI to be more intuitive for developers and engineers. You’ll work with Kibana and UI components to help users understand observability data, like service maps and trace waterfalls, enabling effective troubleshooting. You’ll collaborate with designers and product managers in a distributed, open environment to deliver impactful UI features. This role offers a chance to influence scale, performance, and user experience in a mission-driven, AI-enabled platform.

Responsabilidades

- Design and implement intuitive UI components using TypeScript, React, and Node.js
- Integrate frontend with backend services to ensure smooth UX
- Lead end-to-end ownership of complex problems and key technical decisions
- Champion coding standards, reusable components, automated testing and deployment
- Conduct code reviews, identify security issues, and promote best practices
- Collaborate asynchronously with a distributed team via GitHub and Slack
- Partner with designers and product managers to translate mocks into UI and ensure consistent visuals




- Evaluate new technologies and document best practices for knowledge sharing
- Participate in architecture discussions considering trade-offs, performance, and scale
- Brainstorm and contribute ideas to enhance the UI experience

Requisitos principales

- Full-stack JavaScript experience, TypeScript preferred
- React frontend and Node.js backend experience
- Track record leading non-trivial projects end-to-end
- Strong architecture and system-design judgment in large codebases
- Experience designing and delivering reusable UI components
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable with async collaboration
- People-oriented with a multiplier mindset and user-focused approach
- Bonus: experience with Elastic stack, OpenTelemetry, observability tooling, or data pipelines
- Bonus: Go, Kubernetes, or cloud-native development experience
- Bonus: building large UIs handling data, search, filtering, and real-time data
