An international medical device organisation is seeking an experienced

Business Development Manager

to drive commercial growth across its ophthalmology business in Iberia. The role will focus on

new business development, account acquisition and market expansion , with particular emphasis on

intraocular lenses (IOLs) and cataract surgery . The successful candidate will build relationships with ophthalmic surgeons, hospitals, clinics, procurement teams and commercial partners, converting clinical opportunities into sustainable business growth. Key Responsibilities

Develop new business opportunities across the Iberian ophthalmology market. Drive adoption and commercial growth of the

IOL and ophthalmic portfolio . Identify and develop opportunities across hospitals, private clinics and ophthalmology centres. Build and manage a strong pipeline of new and strategic accounts. Develop relationships with

ophthalmic surgeons, KOLs, procurement teams and key decision-makers . Support product evaluations, surgeon onboarding, trials and account conversion. Provide clinical-commercial support across

monofocal, toric and premium IOL technologies . Participate in product training, wet labs, congresses and relevant industry events. Support distributor relationships, tenders, pricing discussions and commercial proposals. Monitor competitor activity and provide relevant market intelligence. Maintain accurate forecasting, CRM activity and opportunity reporting. Candidate Profile

Approximately

6+ years of commercial experience

within ophthalmology or a related surgical medical device market.



Proven background in

business development, sales, market development or key account management . Strong knowledge of

IOLs and cataract surgery . Experience with monofocal, toric and premium IOL technologies, including multifocal and/or EDOF solutions. Established experience working with

ophthalmic surgeons, hospitals and private clinics . Proven ability to open new accounts and convert commercial opportunities. Experience supporting product evaluations, surgeon onboarding, clinical training or operating-room activities. Understanding of public and private healthcare purchasing environments. Distributor, tender and commercial negotiation experience would be advantageous. Relevant qualification in Optometry, Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, Business or a related discipline preferred. Skills & Competencies
