About the Role

Our client, a leading petrochemical company located in the industrial heartland of Tarragona, is actively seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Petrochemical Process Engineer. Key Responsibilities

- Oversee and manage the design, development, and optimization of petrochemical processes, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Conduct process simulations, feasibility studies, and economic analyses for new projects and plant modifications.
- Provide technical expertise and leadership in troubleshooting operational issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;), and other essential engineering documentation.




- Collaborate closely with project management, operations, maintenance, and safety teams to ensure successful project execution and plant operations.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their technical growth and professional development.
- Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and industry best practices in petrochemical engineering.
- Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP studies to ensure process safety.
- Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
- Ensure all designs and operational procedures adhere to company standards and regulatory requirements in Spain.

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in the petrochemical or oil and gas industry, with a strong focus on process engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of refinery and petrochemical processes (e.g., cracking, reforming, polymerization).
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and P&ID; development tools.
