Our partner is looking for a Senior Accountant (US GAAP) based remotely in Spain.

The Senior Accountant will provide comprehensive accounting support to U.based CPA practices and accounting firms, ensuring accurate financial records and reliable reporting. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and the ability to independently manage complex accounting activities. You will oversee general ledger operations, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and month-end and year-end closing processes. The position also encourages the use of AI tools and modern accounting technologies to improve efficiency and streamline workflows. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a structured, client-facing, and fully remote environment.

Full-Cycle Accounting:

Manage day-to-day accounting operations, maintain the general ledger, and ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and consistently.

Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and resolving outstanding items.

Execute month-end and year-end closing processes while meeting established deadlines and accounting standards.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

Identify accounting discrepancies and provide clear explanations or recommendations to support financial decision-making.

Support sales tax filings, regulatory compliance, and other accounting obligations across multiple entities.

The idóneo candidate brings extensive accounting experience, practical knowledge of U.S. accounting standards, and the confidence to manage responsibilities independently while communicating directly with clients. At least 7 years of professional accounting experience, including a minimum of 2 recent years working within a U.S. accounting firm or CPA practice.

GAAP and demonstrated experience applying its principles in professional accounting environments. A professional accounting qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, SAICA, or an equivalent designation is strongly preferred.

Proven experience managing full-cycle accounting, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Familiarity with sales tax filings, regulatory compliance, and accounting requirements across multiple entities.

Advanced proficiency with accounting software and financial reporting tools.

Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate professionally and confidently with U.Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.

Advanced, hands-on experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini to improve productivity and work quality.
