Role Overview
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will take responsibility for a defined set of accounting processes within a young, fast-growing vessel operator including running the day-to-day bookkeeping, contributing to the monthly close and supporting management with cash flow forecasting, budgeting and project-level analysis. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to grow with the business as its finance function develops.

- Record and process supplier invoices and manage the full purchase-to-pay cycle.
- Prepare and monitor supplier payment forecasts and maintain the rolling weekly cash flow forecast.
- Issue and record customer invoices and track project billing milestones.
- Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile customer and supplier accounts,
including intercompany balances with the Irish holding company and the vessel-owning entity.
- Create and maintain customer and supplier records in the ERP system.
- Prepare and contribute to monthly and annual accounting closings under Spanish GAAP, including accruals, prepayments and fixed asset accounting.
- Prepare the periodic tax filings (VAT, withholding tax returns and annual declarations) for review, and liaise with the external tax adviser and auditors.
- Support the preparation of budgets, variance analysis and project cost reports for management and board reporting.
- Provide ad hoc analysis to management on vessel operating costs, charter profitability and capital expenditure.
- File and manage accounting documentation.

- Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance ; ACCA, ROAC or equivalent professional qualification (or part-qualified) an advantage.
- 3–5 years’ experience in an accounting role, ideally in a Spanish SME or in practice.
- Advanced Excel (financial modelling, pivot tables) and experience with ERP systems; exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools a plus.
- Comfortable moving between detailed bookkeeping and management-level financial analysis.
- Minimum B2 level of English, both written and spoken; Spanish fluency required.
- Organized, methodical, and detail-oriented individual, able to work autonomously in a small team with evolving processes.
