Interested in nanocatalysis, CO₂ conversion and solar fuels? We are recruiting a PhD researcher through @TERRA-MED, an MSCA COFUND programme offering 33 funded international PhD positions addressing environmental and climate challenges in Mediterranean territories. ? Our project: “Surface-Engineered Nanocatalysts for Solar-Driven CO₂ Conversion into Sustainable Fuels and Chemicals” (reference UAB1). Jointly supervised by Xavier Sala at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (SelOxCat) and Karine Philippot at LCC-CNRS in Toulouse, this project will explore how nanoparticle architecture and surface chemistry control catalyst evolution and the conversion of CO₂ into multicarbon products. The doctoral researcher will develop skills in nanoparticle synthesis, molecular interface engineering, electrochemistry and operando characterisation,
working across the Barcelona and Toulouse teams and undertaking a non-academic secondment. ? We are looking for a curious, rigorous and motivated candidate with a strong experimental background and a relevant Master’s degree. MSCA mobility and eligibility rules apply. ? Host: Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona ? Co-host: Université de Toulouse / LCC-CNRS ⏳ Duration: 48 months ? Applications: 15 October–31 December 2026 ? Expected start: September–October 2027 Explore the UAB1 offer, check eligibility and apply: https://terra-med.euroregio.eu/ Please share with potential candidates and your networks
