My client is building Air-Breathing Electric Propulsion systems - satellites that harvest particles from the upper atmosphere and use them as propellant, powered by solar energy, to sustain operation indefinitely in Very Low Earth Orbit. Backed by over €22m in funding, including an €8m seed round led by the NATO Innovation Fund and JOIN Capital, the team is working towards an orbital demonstration of the technology.
We're hiring a Hardware Electronics Engineer to own power-conversion hardware design at their flagship facility in Nigrán, reporting directly to the CTO.
3+ years of hands-on power electronics development, with demonstrable ownership of DC/DC converter and high-voltage hardware design
~ Proven experience designing high-voltage circuits and/or power stages above 300V
~ Practical experience with switched-mode DC/DC converters - topology selection, power-stage design, component sizing
~ Strong understanding of converter control loops and stability
~ Working knowledge of HV insulation, isolation, creepage, clearance and protection requirements
~ Schematic capture and power-electronics PCB design/review, including HV/high-current layout and EMI/EMC awareness
~ Hands-on bring-up, debugging and lab validation - oscilloscope and power measurements, efficiency characterisation, root-cause analysis
Open to candidates willing to relocate - relocation support available.
