Kirey España is looking for a Technical Consultant with hands-on Murex experience, specialised in the MxML messaging framework and in the Murex Back Office module .
The consultant will design, build, support and optimise the message flows that move data between Murex and the bank's front-, middle- and back-office systems, and will configure and maintain the Back Office processes that underpin confirmations, settlements, accounting and operational control.
The role combines deep technical delivery with clear communication: the consultant must be able to explain message structures, operational processes and integration issues to non-technical audiences in both Spanish and English, and to document their work to a standard that survives handover.
Technical
- Murex experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on Murex MX.3 experience, with at least 2 projects involving MxML message design and integration.
- MxML: Solid working knowledge of MxML structure, message generation and parsing, and the event or workflow mechanisms that trigger them.
- Back Office: Hands-on configuration experience in the Murex Back Office module, covering at least one of confirmations, settlements or accounting-related processing for a core asset class (e.g., rates, FX, equities, credit or commodities).
- Operations: Experience supporting production message flows, including monitoring, incident handling and reprocessing.
- Data: Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server or PostgreSQL), including data investigation and reconciliation queries.
- Tooling:
Experience with Unix/Linux command line and job scheduling or orchestration tools used in financial institutions.
- Governance: Experience working within controlled change processes (ITSM, change and release management, incident and problem management).
Professional
- Languages: Professional-level fluency in both Spanish and English, written and spoken. Able to run meetings, present to senior stakeholders and write formal documentation in both languages.
- Communication: Clear, structured communication: able to translate between business and technical language, summarise complex issues concisely and escalat(e?) risks early.
- Sector experience: Demonstrated prior project experience in a tier-1 or large financial institution, ideally in a banking or capital markets context.
- Autonomy: Ability to work independently, manage priorities across parallel workstreams and take ownership of deliverables end to end.
MxML and integration
- Design, develop and maintain MxML message structures, mappings and transformations between Murex and external or internal systems.
- Build, test and support inbound and outbound message flows, ensuring completeness, sequencing, acknowledgement handling and error recovery.
- Investigate and resolve message rejections, failed flows and data discrepancies, with root-cause analysis and documented fixes.
Back Office
- Configure and maintain Back Office processes, including confirmations, settlements, payments and position or accounting-related flows, in line with the bank's operating model.
- Support end-of-day and intraday operational cycles, monitoring batch processing and reconciliations between Back Office and downstream systems.
- Analyse operational breaks and work with Operations teams to define, test and implement corrective controls.
Delivery and governance
- Participate in requirements gathering, impact analysis, solution design and effort estimation with business analysts, architects and product owners.
- Contribute to release management, testing (unit, integration, UAT support), deployment and post-implementation review.
- Produce clear technical and functional documentation: message specifications, configuration records, runbooks and knowledge transfer material.
- Mentor junior team members and share good practice across the Murex and operations community within the project.
Working model:
Hybrid (1-2 days per week on-site at the client's office in Madrid)
Working hours:
Monday to Thursday from 08:00/09:00 to 17:00/18:00, and Fridays and during the summer from 08:00 to 15:00
