AWS Cloud Engineer – DatabaseAWS Cloud Engineer – Database Administration Role Overview As an AWS Cloud Engineer with a Database specialization, you will be responsible for the reliability, performance, and lifecycle management of cloud databases running on AWS.Your primary focus will be Oracle environments, including high availability, disaster recovery, performance optimization, and database automation. You will collaborate closely with application teams, platform engineers, and security teams to ensure robust and compliant database operations. AWS Cloud Operations Operate AWS platform components supporting database workloads Automate database provisioning and operations using Terraform and scripting Database Administration Manage and operate Oracle instances Manage and operate Amazon RDS instances (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.) Perform database performance analysis and query optimization Conduct capacity planning and database upgrades Implement database security controls, including encryption, RBAC,



and auditing Support development teams with database migrations and schema changes Work with security teams to ensure database compliance and hardening Provide guidance on database architecture best practices Several years of experience as a Database Administrator or Cloud Database Engineer Strong expertise with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) Hands‑on experience with AWS RDS and Amazon Aurora Experience with Terraform and infrastructure automation Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and HA/DR architectures Global Collaboration: Work collaboratively with stakeholders around the globe.
