In Hays, we are collaborating with an international company operating in technology solutions and data platforms within complex enterprise environments. Its technology ecosystem combines software engineering, cloud technologies and modern architectures focused on data processing and analytics.

The company is developing and evolving a cloud-based Data & Analytics Platform , designed to build scalable solutions and facilitate data access and processing. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary product team , working alongside technical professionals, Product Owners and business stakeholders in an international environment.

We are looking for a Freelance Platform Software Engineer with senior-level experience in software development and cloud platforms. The main mission will be to contribute hands-on to the evolution of the platform, bringing strong expertise in AWS, Python, SQL and Java , as well as distributed and event-driven architectures . The project offers an environment combining software engineering, cloud and data , with a high level of autonomy and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evolve software solutions within a cloud-based Data & Analytics Platform .

• Design and implement distributed and event-driven architectures .

• Work with AWS cloud services and administration .

• Develop primarily using Python, SQL and Java , while remaining open to working with other programming languages.

• Apply DevOps practices, CI/CD, automated testing and software quality standards .

• Collaborate with Product Owners,



technical teams and business stakeholders within Agile product teams .

- Drive initiatives autonomously and contribute to the continuous improvement of products, processes and ways of working.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building, operating and evolving enterprise software solutions in complex environments.

• Strong software engineering background with hands-on development experience.

• Solid experience with AWS cloud services and administration .

• Advanced programming skills in Python, SQL and Java .

• Experience designing and implementing event-driven and distributed architectures .

• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing and software quality practices .

• Understanding of AI-assisted software development and modern engineering practices.

• Experience working in Agile product teams and collaborating with Product Owners and business stakeholders.

• Fluent English .

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake and Microsoft Fabric .

• Knowledge of Azure cloud services .

• Data Engineering experience with DBT, Airflow, AWS Glue, serverless services and ELT/ETL pipelines .

• Knowledge of data modelling and analytics platforms .

• Exposure to platform architecture, microservices and integration patterns .
