Hays is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in Python, Semantic Web technologies, and Agentic AI to join a cutting-edge Enterprise Data & Platforms team.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development and operation of an Enterprise Knowledge Graph (EKG) platform, leveraging Data Mesh architecture, Semantic Web standards, and FAIR principles to power advanced AI-driven business capabilities.

The main objective of this role is to support the evolution of the Enterprise Brain , a strategic conversational AI platform that connects enterprise knowledge graphs, cloud data platforms, and AI agents, allowing business users to obtain trusted answers through natural language interactions.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop and maintain the MCP Server (Model Context Protocol) powering the Enterprise Brain.
- Build scalable backend solutions using Python and FastAPI .
- Develop and optimize complex SPARQL graph queries.
- Implement caching strategies and performance optimization mechanisms.
- Extend semantic model compilers based on: OWL, SKOS, SHACL, R2RML
- Integrate semantic models with AI Agents and cloud data platforms.
- Develop automated unit, integration and performance tests.
- Support CI/CD deployment processes on OpenShift and Kubernetes environments.
- Implement enterprise-grade security controls: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, RBAC
- Audit Logging
- Contribute to platform documentation and lifecycle management.

Requirements

Backend Development

- Strong experience with Python 3 .
- FastAPI.




- Pydantic.
- Async programming (async/await).
- REST API development.
- Automated testing with Pytest.

Semantic Web & Knowledge Graphs

- Hands-on experience with RDF .
- Strong SPARQL query development and optimization skills.
- Knowledge graph and semantic data modelling experience.
- Knowledge of: OWL, SKOS, SHACL, R2RML

Cloud & Container Platforms

- Docker.
- Kubernetes.
- OpenShift.
- Podman.

Data Platforms

- SQL.
- Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses.

- Experience building Model Context Protocol (MCP) Servers .
- Agentic AI, LLM integration, or Text-to-SQL solutions.
- Hands-on experience with: Stardog, Metaphactory, Ontotext GraphDB, AWS Neptune
- Knowledge of Apache Ossie, LookML or Semantic Layer frameworks.
- AWS services: Lambda, S3, ECR, CloudWatch, API Gateway
- Experience within Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences environments.
