- iVascular Group is an international medical technology group specializing in the development, manufacturing, marketing and distribution of innovative medical devices for the treatment of vascular diseases worldwide. Our vertically integrated model allows us to cover the entire product lifecycle. The group consists of two highly specialized and complementary companies:
• LVD Biotech, our innovation center, leads and drives research and development of new technologies, managing the complete product development cycle from initial concept to the preparation of regulatory submission dossiers, including the generation and protection of knowledge through intellectual property.
• iVascular transforms this innovation into medical solutions that reach healthcare professionals and patients through manufacturing, logistics, marketing and international commercialization of a medical device portfolio covering the Coronary, Peripheral and Neurovascular areas. With a team of more than 600 professionals and a commercial presence in over 86 countries, both companies work together in a continuously collaborative environment that combines science, innovation, industrial excellence and the highest quality standards. Together, we drive the development of cutting-edge medical technologies with a shared goal: improving patients' quality of life worldwide. Medical-Grade Metal Tubing Processing Engineer – Metals R&D; This position offers the opportunity to participate in an international R&D; project structured in two stages: Stage 1 – Paris, France (12 months) The selected candidate will join Chimie ParisTech – PSL in Paris, where they will work on a research and development project focused on medical-grade metal tubing processing. During this stage, the candidate will be employed under a French permanent employment contract (CDI) with Chimie ParisTech. Stage 2 – Sant Vicenç dels Horts, Barcelona After completing the first year in Paris, the candidate is expected to join iVascular at our facilities in Sant Vicenç dels Horts (Barcelona), under a new Spanish permanent employment contract. This second stage will provide the opportunity to continue developing professionally within the Metals R&D; Department, applying the knowledge and expertise gained during the international project. Candidates must be willing to live and work in Paris for the first year and subsequently relocate to Barcelona. YOUR MISSION: Design, develop and validate medical-grade metal tubing processing routes, ensuring metallurgical quality, traceability and compliance with the technical and economic objectives established by the company.
Contribute to the industrialization and transfer of these processes into production, providing technical support to the Production, Quality and Engineering departments and supporting the development of metallic raw materials for medical devices. MAIN DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process Development and Validation:
• Define, develop and validate medical-grade metal tubing processing routes, ensuring their transfer into production.
• Establish technical specifications for metallic raw materials, including chemical composition, inclusions, microstructure, transformation temperatures, mechanical properties, dimensional tolerances and surface quality.
• Define incoming acceptance criteria for metallic raw materials. Metallic Materials Characterization:
• Characterize metallic raw materials using techniques such as DSC, tensile testing, metallography, SEM/EBSD, inclusion analysis, roughness measurement and surface defect analysis.
• Analyze and interpret the relationship between manufacturing processes, microstructure and material properties.
• Generate material and process data to support simulation models for metal forming processes and medical device behavior. Industrialization and Technical Support:
• Participate in transferring developed processes into production.
• Provide technical support to Production, Quality and Engineering teams in resolving metallurgical issues related to shape setting, transformation temperatures, expansion, laser cutting and heat treatments.
• Collaborate in investigating and resolving non-conformities related to metallic materials.
