Job Description
The Senior Instrumentation & Telecommunications Engineer is responsible for overseeing all instrumentation, control systems, and telecommunications activities throughout the lifecycle of major industrial projects. The role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant execution of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities while maintaining technical integrity and project quality. Engineering & Design Review
• Review and approve Instrumentation and Telecom engineering deliverables.
• Evaluate P&IDs;, instrument datasheets, hook-up drawings, loop diagrams, instrument indexes, and system architectures.
• Ensure compliance with international standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and support to multidisciplinary teams. Technical Coordination
• Coordinate activities between engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to technical and quality requirements.
• Resolve technical issues and support project decision-making.
• Participate in design reviews and technical workshops. Process Safety & Risk Management
• Lead and participate in HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, QRA, FMEA, and Bow-Tie studies.
• Ensure implementation of safety-critical systems including SIS, ESD, and Fire & Gas systems.
• Support Process Safety Management (PSM) initiatives and compliance requirements.
• Promote inherently safer design principles throughout project execution. Procurement & Vendor Management
• Support technical bid evaluations and equipment selection.
• Review vendor documents and technical submissions.
• Participate in FAT and SAT activities.
• Coordinate with vendors, OEMs, and specialist suppliers. Construction & Commissioning
• Supervise installation and construction activities related to Instrumentation and Telecom systems.
• Review commissioning procedures, testing protocols,



and method statements.
• Identify commissioning risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Support start-up activities and ensure safe energization and operational readiness. Quality, HSE & Compliance
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and technical assessments.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, specifications, and HSE requirements.
• Manage non-conformities and corrective actions.
• Support environmental compliance and sustainable project execution. Project Handover
• Participate in mechanical completion and handover processes.
• Review as-built documentation and final dossiers.
• Support operations teams during start-up and performance testing.
• Ensure successful transition from project phase to operational phase. Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in industrial projects.
• Strong experience across: FEED Detailed Engineering Procurement Construction Commissioning Start-up
• Proven experience working within PMC and EPC environments on large capital projects. Industry Experience

• Expertise in Instrumentation, Control Systems, and Industrial Telecommunications.
• Strong knowledge of DCS, PLC, SIS, ESD, and industrial networking systems.
• Experience with Fire & Gas, CCTV, PAGA, Radio, and Fiber Optic systems.
• Knowledge of process safety methodologies and risk assessments.
• Familiarity with international standards including: IEC 61511 API ANSI ISO IEC Soft Skills
• Strong leadership and coordination capabilities.
