OverviewAs Senior Software Engineer in Unified Compute, you own the backend layer that turns compute capacity into configurable, billable services for Seqera Platform users.
You will shape multi-cloud compute provisioning, billing, and onboarding journeys across AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, HPC schedulers, and GPU workloads.
Your work ensures reliable workloads, transparent usage insights, and accurate metering for customers worldwide.
This role offers end-to-end ownership with cross-functional collaboration to drive a scalable, customer-facing platform that supports data-driven science.

ResponsabilidadesOwn integration between Seqera Intelligent Compute and the Seqera Platform
Manage compute environments across AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, HPC schedulers, and GPUs
Integrate with cloud provider APIs and handle partial failures and provider quirks
Own metering, pay-as-you-go path, and onboarding for free-tier users
Design data models and APIs consistent across services




Improve failure visibility and add tests/observability for incident diagnosis
Collaborate with Platform, product, and support teams; document systems for longevity
Take design decisions within scope and document the system to avoid single-person dependency
Requisitos principales4+ years building and operating production backend services with ownership
Strong in Java and/or Groovy, with Micronaut, Spring Boot or similar
Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider API for programmatic provisioning
Kubernetes usage experience for running workloads
Commitment to data correctness; experience with billing/meters is a plus
REST API and data model design experience; ability to handle versioning and failures
Customer-facing production responsibility
Ability to work with ambiguity and initiative to unblock yourself
Willingness to use AI tools as part of daily engineering work
