About the role:
Location: Barcelona, Spain / Eastern Europe / Remote (for those countries only)
Duration: 3–6 months (6 months strongly preferred, with potential to convert to a full-time role)
Crisalix is looking for a hands-on, technically capable individual who is confident using modern AI tools and can apply them to solve real business challenges.
This is not a research role or a theoretical AI position. The focus is on using current AI technologies, automation platforms and programming skills to quickly develop practical applications, prototypes and working solutions that improve internal workflows and business efficiency.
The role involves working closely with colleagues across different departments to understand business needs and turn ideas into functioning solutions.
While speed and creativity are important, we also value technical quality. Applications should not only work but also be well-structured, reliable and maintainable so they can be improved or developed further.
What the role involves
- Participating in internal discussions to understand business problems and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Building rapid prototypes using AI tools, programming and automation platforms.
- Developing internal applications, AI assistants and automated workflows.
- Connecting different tools and business systems through APIs and integrations.
- Reviewing, debugging and improving code, including AI-generated code.
- Testing solutions, gathering feedback and making improvements.
- Ensuring applications are properly structured, documented and maintainable.
- Preparing prototypes that can be handed over to developers for further development or production.
- Identifying opportunities where AI can improve efficiency and automate manual processes.
The expectation is that candidates can move quickly from concept to working prototype while understanding the technology behind what they build.
Our idóneo candidate would have:
We are looking for someone who is already comfortable working with modern AI tools and automation platforms. This is not an internship designed to teach someone AI from scratch.
Candidates should be practical, technically curious and capable of building applications rather than simply discussing ideas.
Importantly, we are looking for someone with enough programming knowledge to understand, troubleshoot and improve the code behind their solutions, including code generated with AI assistance.
Ideally, candidates will have experience with:
- Modern AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Microsoft Copilot and OpenAI APIs / GPT Agents.
- Prompt engineering and developing structured AI workflows.
- Automation platforms such as Zapier, Jotform, Make, n8n, Airtable Automations, Pipedream, Retool, Bubble and Flowise.
- Basic-to-intermediate programming skills, preferably Python and/or JavaScript.
- Understanding and improving AI-generated code rather than relying entirely on AI to produce working solutions.
- Connecting applications through APIs, webhooks and integrations.
- Low-code or no-code development environments.
- Basic software development principles, including clean code, debugging, testing and documentation.
- Rapid prototyping, testing and improving applications based on feedback.
Essential requirements
- Practical experience building AI-powered applications, automations or workflows.
- A good understanding of at least one programming language.
- Strong spoken and written English, allowing effective communication within an international team.
- The ability to work independently and solve technical problems.
- Availability for a minimum of 3 months, ideally 6 months.
We are not looking for an experienced software engineer, but candidates should have sufficient technical knowledge to build solutions that can be understood, maintained and improved by others.
We also value very positively:
Additional qualities
- Sharp, analytical thinking and the ability to understand new problems quickly.
- Strong business understanding, ideally with a background or interest in business operations.
- A genuine passion for AI and regularly experimenting with new technologies, tools and integrations.
- A hands-on mindset and the ability to turn ideas into practical solutions quickly.
- Experience with Git, version control or collaborative development.
- The ability to explain technical solutions clearly to non-technical colleagues.
- Good organisational skills, attention to detail and a willingness to learn from feedback.
- Previous personal, academic or prof
