MONEI Pay turns a phone into a payment terminal — Tap to Pay on iPhone, Bizum, QR, payment links — and it's used by a café owner in Málaga between coffees, not by a developer at a desk. We're looking for a Staff Manager — Apps to own that experience end to end: the architecture, the roadmap, and the people who build it.
You'll lead a small team of 3–4 UPC interns: pick them, onboard them, review their code, and turn a first job into a proper engineering apprenticeship. You'll still be writing code, making the architectural calls, and shipping to production yourself.

Own MONEI's mobile apps end to end — architecture, code quality, release process, store submissions, crash and performance monitoring. Lead and grow a team of 3–4 UPC interns. Protect their learning time from the urgent.
Break work down so juniors can win. Our apps sit on an AWS-native serverless backend processing real money — Lambda, DynamoDB, EventBridge, Step Functions, with AppSync GraphQL as the API layer.



You'll work closely with our backend and frontend engineers on schema design, SDKs, tokenization, error handling and the edge cases that matter when a transaction fails mid-sale. Set the engineering standards for mobile — testing, CI/CD, code review, release cadence, documentation.
Strong native mobile development (Swift and/or Kotlin). Tap to Pay on iPhone can only be reached from native iOS code, so there is genuine native work here.
TypeScript, or the appetite to pick it up — our stack is TypeScript top to bottom.
Experience mentoring or leading engineers , formally or informally: onboarding juniors, running code reviews, and raising the level of people around you.
Solid fundamentals — API integration, state management, offline and poor-connectivity behaviour, testing, CI/CD and the full release cycle on both the App Store and Google Play.
Professional English and Spanish (C1+).
React Native experience, or any cross‐platform framework.
AWS serverless background (Lambda, DynamoDB, EventBridge) — useful for working shoulder to shoulder with our team.
Previous experience working with university interns or in an academic partnership (UPC, UMA or similar).
Contributions to open source, technical writing or community involvement.
Hybrid work: two days a week from our Málaga or Barcelona office, three days remote.
