Overview

In this role you will drive responsible AI across Santander's DAISci program, translating research into safe, reliable, and production-ready AI systems. You will work across engineering, governance and product teams to operationalize AI principles and monitor lifecycle performance. You’ll advance methods in interpretability, robustness, and fairness, shaping trustworthy AI at scale in a integral financial institution. Responsabilidades

- Develop and operationalize Santander’s AI principles to build safe and responsible AI across the product lifecycle
- Collaborate with engineering, validation, governance and product teams to translate research into scalable systems
- Advance responsible AI techniques (interpretability, robustness, alignment) and implement them in production




- Contribute to Santander’s research and publication agenda and mentor peers
- Explore trustworthy AI approaches and ensure regulatory alignment and governance
- Translate concepts like bias detection, explainability, and safety guardrails into reliable systems

Requisitos principales

- Advanced degree (PhD or MSc) in a related field with specialization in Responsible AI or AI governance
- Track record of high-impact AI/ML research, patents, open-source contributions, or transformative products
- Experience translating research into production, including bias detection/mitigation, interpretability, robustness testing, model monitoring, and uncertainty estimation
- Strong Python programming skills and familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, DGL, or PyG
- Deep understanding of responsible AI principles, fairness, explainability, privacy, risk management, and regulatory alignment
- Strong connections with academia and the AI research community
