Overview

Senior R&D; Power Electronics Engineer at Sécheron Hasler Group, a leader in railway electrical safety and traction systems. You will design and industrialize high-power AC/DC, DC-DC, and DC/AC converters and steer technical leadership in customer projects. The role focuses on specifying components, validating designs, and coordinating testing to meet demanding railway standards. Responsabilidades

- Design and industrialize high-power converters (1-10MW, 500-1500Vdc) for AC/DC, DC-DC, DC/AC
- Model voltage source and line-commutated converters
- Specify components (IGBTs, cooling, magnetics) and design filters and power factor compensation
- Verify compliance with specifications and standards
- Coordinate protections, validation, and testing




- Prepare converter testing documentation
- Analyze customer specifications
- Prepare offers and perform cost calculations
- Provide technical leadership in customer projects and support project management

Requisitos principales

- Master's Degree or above in Power Electronics Engineering
- Understanding of functional characteristics of Power Electronics and control for converters
- Knowledge in IGBT-based Voltage Source Converters (VSC)
- Knowledge of Thyristor-based Line Commutation Converters (LCC)
- Knowledge of simulation tools like MATLAB/SIMULINK, PSIM
- Positive attitude, initiative, proactiveness and enthusiasm for power electronics and renewable energy
- Demonstrable success in achieving customer milestones and exceeding quality expectations
- Good problem solving with minimal supervision and solution-building skills
- Good communication with team, peers, and management
- Good communication in Spanish and English
