About the Role

Our client, a leading provider of agricultural analytics and precision farming solutions, is seeking a skilled Técnico de Sensores Agrícolas to join their team in Mérida, Yucatán, MX. This role is crucial for the deployment, calibration, and maintenance of a wide array of agricultural sensors used to monitor soil, climate, and crop health. You will work closely with farmers and our client's data science team to ensure accurate data collection, playing a vital role in enabling data-driven decision-making in agriculture. While the role involves significant fieldwork and on-site presence in and around Mérida, Yucatán, MX, there may be opportunities for remote data analysis and reporting depending on project needs and team structure. Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, and calibrate various types of agricultural sensors (e.g., soil moisture, weather stations, nutrient sensors, drone-mounted cameras).
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on sensor networks and data logging equipment.
- Conduct field visits to farms to deploy new sensor installations and collect data.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data collected by the sensor network.
- Collaborate with agronomists and data analysts to interpret sensor readings and identify potential issues.
- Train farmers and farm workers on the use and basic maintenance of sensor equipment.
- Prepare detailed reports on sensor performance, data quality,



and maintenance activities.
- Stay updated on the latest sensor technologies and best practices in precision agriculture.
- Assist in the development of new sensor deployment strategies and data collection protocols.

Requirements

- Technical degree or certification in Electronics, Telecommunications, Agriculture Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electronic sensors and data acquisition systems.
- Familiarity with agricultural environments and common farming practices.
- Strong understanding of data transmission protocols and wireless communication technologies (e.g., LoRa, cellular).
- Excellent practical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in outdoor field conditions, often in remote locations.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the region of Mérida, Yucatán, MX.
- Basic knowledge of data analysis and interpretation is a plus.
