Privacy Legal Counsel Madrid Medtronic Flexible Work Arrangement Prague, Hlavni Mesto Praha, Czech Republic Full time As Privacy Legal Counsel, you will play a key role as part of a general team in supporting privacy, data protection, and responsible data use by Medtronic primarily across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Working at the intersection of law, healthcare, technology, and digital transformation, you will provide legal advice to business and functional stakeholders on complex data protection and privacy matters, helping the organization navigate evolving regulatory requirements while enabling innovation and operational excellence. This position offers the opportunity to provide expert legal advice across a broad range of strategic initiatives including digital health, data governance, and artificial intelligence within a global healthcare environment. Advise stakeholders on privacy, data protection, and related regulatory requirements across the EMEA region. Monitor and interpret legal and regulatory developments, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), ePrivacy requirements, and other applicable frameworks. Provide legal guidance on digital health solutions, artificial intelligence initiatives, data governance activities, secondary use of data, and new product developments. Draft, review, and negotiate privacy-related agreements, including data processing agreements and data transfer agreements. Support privacy risk assessments, transfer impact assessments, and compliance reviews related to personal data processing activities. Advise on cross-border data transfers and legal requirements for international data flows.



Develop privacy guidance, templates, governance processes, and compliance resources to support global privacy programs. Law degree and 4+ years of experience as legal counsel, or an advanced law degree with 2+ years of relevant experience supporting data protection, privacy, security, or related legal matters Experience providing legal advice on data protection and privacy matters within a large, matrixed organization Knowledge of privacy and data protection regulations across EMEA, including GDPR and UK GDPR Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial and data-related agreements Professional fluency in English, both written and verbal Preferred qualifications include qualification as legal counsel in a relevant jurisdiction, experience within healthcare, life sciences, medical technology, or another regulated industry, knowledge of emerging regulations such as the European Union Artificial Intelligence (AI) Act and European Union Data Act, and experience supporting privacy assessments, privacy incident response, data subject rights requests, and international data transfer matters.
