From empowering entrepreneurs to build successful businesses, to supporting their clients to arrange 'me time' moments, we're in the business of elevating people - helping them to thrive and feel fantastic. Lifting others up can be hard, heavy work, and we passionately believe that the sense of purpose and personal satisfaction this brings are worth it.

What started in Poland is now an international, cloud-based marketplace that's scaling rapidly. We bring independent business owners together with their customers on a product that connects creative communities and opens up worlds of opportunities.

For our providers, our products offer services for getting booked, paid, and building a loyal client base. For their clients, we're where they can find their favourite spots, discover new businesses and book appointments in an instant.

Working in a rapidly growing, ever-changing scale-up comes with its own set of opportunities and challenges. If you prefer a stable environment, with clear processes and structures then, we've got to be honest, you won't always find that here. However, if you enjoy inventively solving problems with others, helping create clarity when things get confusing, and prioritising your own path within ambiguity, then the chances are that you'll love the opportunities available to grow your career at Booksy.

The people you'll like to work with and things you'll enjoy impacting:

As a Data Engineer reporting to the Data Engineering Manager in our DASA (Data and Strategic Analytics) team, your purpose will be to help the business run on data it can trust. You'll sit in a business-facing team, close to the people who use what you build, and you'll:

- Build and own pipelines,

transformations and dbt models end to end, from landing the data to the models people make decisions with
- Help introduce new tools and retire legacy ones as we move from a legacy data warehouse towards a lakehouse
- Build quality checks into everything you ship and handle sensitive data with care
- Plan and estimate your own features, and flag risk the day it appears
- Work with analysts, product, data science and business stakeholders, explaining your work to technical and non-technical people alike
- Use AI tools every day, with the judgement to review and test what they produce

You'll grow against a published seniority matrix, with a senior engineer and your manager close by for the bigger calls. Essentially, to ensure you succeed in this role you're going to need…
- 2+ years building data pipelines in production that were yours to finish
- Strong dbt and SQL, with a working grasp of data modelling
- Hands-on experience with a cloud warehouse (BigQuery ideally; Snowflake or Redshift translate) and an orchestrator such as Airflow, plus Python, git, code review, tests and CI as default habits
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (such as Cursor or Claude) with good engineering practice
- At a minimum we require conversational level English language skills.

Why? English is our company language and is used for any business-wide communications, so we need you to be able to speak English to feel like an integrated part of Booksy. You'll also need clear written English, as we work across time zones.

It will also help you to have…
- Experience with GCP and the BigQuery side beyond SQL: configuration, parameterisation and cost
- Terraform (we're happy to teach it)
- Data quality tooling or data contracts, or exposure to streaming or PySpark

Some of the benefits we offer are:
- We're proudly distributed across the globe, with each market being remote-first. Depending on which market you're joining, you might have office access or be fully remote - either works. All we ask is that you're based in the country/region this role is advertised in.
- Additional benefits that might differ depending on the location. You shall be provided with the benefits details during or after your first conversation with one of our TA Specialists.
- Work in a welcoming team which is always ready to help.
- Opportunity to develop in an international environment - we have teams in 6 countries.

Our Diversity and Inclusion Commitment:We work in a highly creative and diverse industry so it goes without saying that we strive to create an inclusive environment for all. We welcome people from all backgrounds and are committed to fair consideration in our hiring process. If you have any accessibility needs or require reasonable adjustments during the interview process, please contact us at [email protected], so we can best support you. Kindly submit your application and CV in English to ensure it is successfully reviewed.
