Team Lead – Data & Enablement
Location: Madrid, Spain | Verisure Innovation
Lead the transformation of how data is accessed, governed and used across an international organisation.
At Verisure, data is becoming increasingly important to how we innovate, make decisions and develop new capabilities. As we continue to invest in cloud technologies, advanced analytics and AI, we are looking for an experienced Team Lead – Data & Enablement to lead a major transformation of our enterprise data platform and the teams behind it.
This is an opportunity for a technically strong and experienced leader to reshape how data is delivered across the organisation. You will help move our data function from a traditional, centralised support model towards a modern, scalable Data-as-a-Service approach, enabling teams to access and use trusted data independently.
You will combine strategic thinking, technical understanding and people leadership to drive this transformation, working closely with technical leaders and stakeholders across our international organisation.
About The Role
Our Data & Enablement function is undergoing a significant transformation.
Today, much of our data delivery relies on a centralised support model, where internal teams request datasets and pipelines through dedicated support processes. Our ambition is to move towards a modern, cloud-based data platform where data is readily available, securely governed and accessible through self-service capabilities.
By leveraging technologies such as Snowflake, AWS and modern data engineering solutions, we aim to enable teams across the organisation to independently access the data they need for analytics, business intelligence, AI and machine learning.
As Team Lead, you will play a central role in making this vision a reality.
Reporting to the Manager, Technology Platform, you will lead a function
Spanning Three Key Areas
- Cloud Data Platform: Developing and operating modern cloud-based data capabilities, including Snowflake, AWS and scalable data engineering solutions.
- BI & Legacy: Maintaining and evolving existing business intelligence solutions and legacy data environments while supporting the transition towards modern technologies.
- Data Governance: Establishing clear ownership, standards and governance practices to ensure data is secure, reliable, accessible and ready for future AI applications.
You will work closely with our Platform Technical Lead, who is responsible for architecture and technical standards, while you take ownership of the people, organisational development, delivery capabilities and transformation journey.
What you will do
- Lead a major data transformation: Drive the transition from a reactive, ticket-based support function towards a modern Data-as-a-Service model, enabling self-service and greater autonomy across the organisation.
- Lead and develop your teams: Provide direction, support and coaching to technical leaders and specialists across Cloud Data Platform, BI & Legacy and Data Governance, building the capabilities needed for the future.
- Drive cloud platform evolution: Support the development and adoption of modern cloud data technologies, ensuring the organisation can effectively leverage platforms such as Snowflake and AWS.
- Enable business-wide adoption: Build strong relationships with internal teams and stakeholders, helping them understand, adopt and benefit from new data services and ways of working.
- Manage the transition from legacy to modern technology: Balance the development of new platform capabilities with the continued stability and support of business-critical legacy solutions.
- Strengthen data governance: Establish and embed clear data ownership, governance processes and operational standards to support secure, reliable and responsible data consumption.
- Own delivery and operational performance: Together with the Manager, oversee priorities, resources, budgets and delivery commitments,
ensuring alignment between strategic objectives and operational execution.
- Build a future-ready organisation: Identify capability gaps, develop talent, support recruitment and establish structures and ways of working that enable long-term success.
What you bring We are looking for an experienced technology leader who combines a strong technical background in data platforms with the ability to lead people, navigate organisational complexity and successfully drive change.
You understand both the technical and organisational challenges of modernising enterprise data environments and know how to turn an ambitious transformation strategy into tangible results.
To Succeed In This Role, We Believe You Bring
- Strong leadership experience within Data Engineering, Data Platforms, Cloud Platforms or a closely related technology environment, including developing teams and leading technical specialists.
- Proven transformation experience, having led or played a significant leadership role in modernising data platforms, migrating from legacy solutions to cloud technologies or introducing new platform operating models.
- Experience working in large, complex enterprise environments, with an understanding of the challenges associated with organisational change, stakeholder alignment and business-critical technology.
- Solid technical understanding of cloud data platforms, including experience with technologies such as Snowflake, AWS, modern ETL/ELT pipelines and data engineering practices.
- Understanding of Data-as-a-Service and self-service data platforms, including how to enable secure, governed and scalable data consumption across multiple business functions.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence decisions and drive adoption of new technologies and working practices.
- Experience managing delivery, priorities, resources and budgets, balancing long-term strategic development with operational stability.
- A people-focused leadership approach, with the ability to motivate teams, guide them through change and build a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish, written and spoken.
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, is expected. It Would Be An Advantage If You Also Have
- Experience implementing a platform-as-a-product or X-as-a-Service operating model.
- Experience leading an end-to-end transformation from centralised data support towards self-service data capabilities.
- Knowledge of Data Mesh principles, data governance frameworks and AI-related data requirements, including the EU AI Act.
- Experience with Power BI, data orchestration technologies and complex legacy BI environments.
