Software Engineer (Python / AI / React) | £65-85k + Equity | Remote UK/EU

I'm recruiting for a profitable AI travel startup building a platform to discover and book luxury hotels, villas, yachts and private flights, with intelligent search and personalised recommendations at its core.

You' ll be joining an engineering team led by a hands-on CTO (worked for Microsoft, startups and hedge funds - build the inhouse machine learning models himself) as well as a founding engineer who built products used by millions at Spotify.

The challenge?

Building the systems that power the platform as it scales.

What you'll own:

- Python / FastAPI: Integrating multiple travel suppliers, handling real-time pricing, availability and API reliability.
- PostgreSQL: Designing the data architecture, normalising messy supplier data and matching duplicate properties.
- Redis / GCP: Caching, deployment, infrastructure and performance.
- AI search: Building retrieval and recommendation features using LLMs, embeddings and structured data.




- React / TypeScript: Contributing across the frontend when needed. It's a three-person engineering team, so everyone gets involved.

Who they're looking for:

- A backend-leaning full-stack engineer with 4+ years' experience, ideally from a successful startup, scaleup or high-calibre technology company.
- You' ll have designed and deployed production backend systems, be confident with databases and architecture, and have enough frontend experience to build features end to end.
- Experience with AI-powered products, consumer platforms, marketplaces or e-commerce is a big plus.

Not a pure frontend, ML or data engineering role.

They want someone who can own the backend architecture, write excellent code and contribute wherever the product needs them.
