IRB Barcelona is seeking a talented and motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Biomedical Genomics Lab (BBGLab) led by Dr. We are looking for a postdoctoral bioinformatician with deep experience in handling and analyzing biological data (ideally different types) to derive robust results. Specifically, as part of a state-of-the-art international project, they will participate in the co-development of an agentic system to facilitate human-AI scientific collaboration aimed at uncovering the molecular mechanisms underlying tumorigenesis across different types of genes and tissues. The candidate will participate and perform the activities, tasks, and reports within the framework of the project AURORA. This position is financed by the project “AI-Driven Systematic Discovery of Tumorigenic Mechanisms of Tumor Promoter Mutations” financed by Cancer Research UK, with file number CGCAI2F-Jul26/100010. Independently design and test computational genomics analyses, interpret and discuss their results. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team, tapping into the expertise of fellow researchers and external collaborators. Contribute to other lab projects and to the maintenance of protocols and laboratory resources in the group. Participate in the project activities: meetings, presentations, visits to other labs, collaboration, exchange of data sets, preparing project reports/deliverables. Perform excellent research according to the high standards of the lab and the IRB Barcelona. PhD in Biomedicine, Biomedical informatics, Bioinformatics, Informatics, Physics, Mathematics MsC in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology,
Biomedicine or similar. Deep expertise in widely used data analysis programming languages, such as Python, or R Demonstrated ability to design and conduct computational analyses independently. Proficiency in English (both written and spoken). Ability to work independently in a demanding research environment. Experience in development of pipelines and bioinformatics tools We are a biomedical research centre that tirelessly works to achieve a society free of diseases. Our mission is to carry out research of excellence to cure cancer and other diseases linked to ageing. Permanent contract linked to the scientific and technical activities of the project “AI-Driven Systematic Discovery of Tumorigenic Mechanisms of Tumor Promoter Mutations”.
