EXPOGEN-AI is supported by the Community ofMadrid (César Nombela grant) and involves nationaland international collaborations. The project aims toidentify mutational signatures, model exposure-drivencancer risk, and develop digital twin strategies to betterunderstand disease mechanisms and supportprevention and precision oncology. The project is ledby Dr. Karen Gonçalves and will be developed withinthe Digital Genomics Group, led by Dr. Marcos Díaz-led by Dr. Marcos Díaz-Gay.
The group has recently demonstrated significantimpact in applying these methodologies acrossdifferent cancer types, including lung cancer (Díaz-Gay, Zhang, et al. 2025, Nature) and colorectal cancer(Díaz-Gay, dos Santos, et al. 2025, Nature).
