Build the future of aerospace technology through advanced materials.I'm working on an exciting opportunity for a technically minded materials specialist to join an innovative aerospace venture developing next-generation, high-altitude platforms. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the difference between a material's marketing claims and its real-world performance. You'll help shape critical engineering decisions by identifying, evaluating and validating the materials and components that make ambitious designs possible. The opportunityWorking closely with aerostructures, engineering and workshop teams, you'll take ownership of the materials evaluation process, with a particular focus on composites and structural materials. You'll identify promising new materials, engage directly with manufacturers, scrutinise technical data and coordinate testing to ensure engineering teams have reliable, verified information to work with. This is an opportunity to influence design decisions, build strong supplier relationships and establish the technical foundations that support the development and manufacture of advanced aerospace platforms. What you'll be doingIdentifying and evaluating advanced materials, particularly composites and structural materials.Obtaining and critically assessing technical datasheets, specifications and test results from manufacturers.Coordinating material sampling, procurement and evaluation testing with engineering and workshop teams.Building and maintaining trusted relationships with specialist suppliers.Developing and maintaining accurate,
verified technical catalogues to support engineering design decisions.Keeping abreast of emerging materials, technologies and potential improvements in performance, weight and functionality. What we're looking forA background in materials science, composites, mechanical or aerospace engineering, chemistry, or equivalent practical experience.Experience with composite materials and a sound understanding of material properties, technical specifications and test data. The ability to distinguish robust technical evidence from supplier marketing and assess materials on their vigente merits.Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and confidence engaging directly with manufacturers and suppliers.Fluency in both Spanish and English.Experience in aerospace, UAVs, motorsport or other advanced engineering environments would be particularly relevant. A technical procurement or materials sourcing background would also be valuable. Why consider this opportunity? You will join a small, ambitious engineering environment where your work will directly influence design choices and the performance of next-generation aerospace platforms. The wider mission is to develop innovative, high-altitude monitoring technology with applications spanning environmental protection, disaster response, safety and defence.Based in Teruel, Aragón, you'll work closely with the technical team in a role offering genuine responsibility, variety and the opportunity to make a tangible contribution.#J-18808-Ljbffr
