We are looking for a Data Platform Engineer to join our team and help manage, maintain and continuously improve our enterprise Data Warehouse environment, working with technologies including Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric and Azure.
This is a hands-on technical role focused on Data Warehouse operations, platform administration, performance optimisation, security and automation.
Your main responsibilities
Data Warehouse Operations
Manage, maintain and continuously improve our Snowflake and Fabric data platforms.
Monitor platform availability, performance, resource consumption and operational health.
Troubleshoot technical issues related to data workloads, processing and platform operations.
Performance Optimisation
Analyse and optimise SQL queries, compute resources and Data Warehouse workloads.
Identify performance bottlenecks and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve them.
Security & Governance
Implement and maintain access controls, roles and permissions.
Support data security, governance and compliance requirements.
Contribute to the reliability, integrity and traceability of enterprise data.
Automation & Platform Engineering
Develop SQL and Python scripts to improve platform operations.
Contribute to Infrastructure as Code practices using tools such as Bicep.
Reduce manual operational tasks through automation and standardisation.
Technical Support & Continuous Improvement
Support teams working with dbt and other data transformation technologies.
Investigate technical incidents, identify root causes and implement preventive improvements.




Document operational procedures and share knowledge across technical teams.
What are we looking for?
Essential requirements
Practical experience with enterprise Data Warehouses or modern cloud data platforms.
Strong SQL skills, including query optimisation and performance troubleshooting.
Experience with Snowflake or a comparable cloud Data Warehouse technology.
Experience with Python or similar scripting technologies.
Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
Understanding of data security, access management and governance principles.
Good written and spoken English.
Nice to have
Experience in Snowflake administration and performance optimisation.
Knowledge of dbt and modern data transformation workflows.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Bicep or Terraform and CI/CD practices.
Experience with monitoring, automation and data integration.
