About Us
Founded in 2006, AVS Added Value Solutions is a leading high-tech engineering company with 20 years of experience delivering complex, pivotal projects across Fusion Energy, Scientific Innovation, Particle Accelerators, and Space. Our track record includes three proprietary LUR-family satellites currently in orbit, which have successfully demonstrated the maturity of our platform architecture, subsystems, and LEO operations. Building on this flight heritage, we leverage our modular LUR-100 platform to support demanding institutional missions, including the ESA ARRAKIHS project and the development of the Canary Islands Satellite Constellation (Constelación Canaria). To drive these ambitious initiatives forward, we are currently scaling our Space Division to strengthen our hands-on Assembly, Integration, Testing, and Verification (AIT&V;) engineering team.
About the Role
As a Systems AIT Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day engineering work required to prepare, execute, and verify spacecraft assembly, functional testing, and environmental qualification campaigns. Working directly within ISO cleanroom facilities and external test centers, you will draft test procedures, operate FlatSat testbeds, execute functional and performance tests, and support troubleshooting during integration. You will collaborate closely with Systems Engineering, Subsystem Leads, and Quality Assurance to ensure that satellite hardware and software perform flawlessly under operational space conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Procedure Preparation: Prepare spacecraft functional, electrical, and performance test procedures, ensuring complete verification coverage against engineering requirements.
- Environmental Campaign Documentation: Prepare detailed environmental test procedures, including vibration, acoustic, thermal vacuum (TVAC), and EMC procedures as required.
- Cleanroom Assembly & Integration: Execute and support physical spacecraft assembly and integration activities in cleanroom environments following strict quality and safety guidelines.
- Functional & Performance Testing: Execute spacecraft functional and performance test sequences at integrated system, subsystem, and payload levels.
- Environmental Campaign Execution: Execute and support environmental test campaigns at external facilities, including TVAC, mechanical vibration/shock, and electromagnetic compatibility.
- Anomaly Investigation & Troubleshooting: Support technical troubleshooting and investigation of anomalies encountered during integration, testing, and environmental campaigns.
- Procedure Redlining & Retesting: Implement necessary procedure modifications, redlines, and retest activities following anomaly resolution or spacecraft configuration changes.
- FlatSat Testing: Set up, maintain, and perform testing on FlatSat / avionics testbeds for early software/hardware validation and functional verification.
- Day-to-Day AIT Engineering: Perform all day-to-day engineering activities required for the preparation, setup, calibration, and execution of the complete AIT programme. What We Are Looking For We welcome candidates with diverse engineering backgrounds and recognize that great hands-on talent comes from various paths. If you meet most of the following criteria, we encourage you to apply:
- Agile & Practical Mindset: Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced SME environment where hands-on problem solving, technical rigor, and flexibility are essential.
- Spacecraft AIT
Experience:
Demonstrated track record (typically 3+ years) in spacecraft or complex space instrument assembly, integration, and testing.
- Procedure Writing & Test Execution: Proven expertise in drafting clear, rigorous test procedures and executing complex functional test sequences using EGSE/MGSE systems.
- FlatSat & Cleanroom Operations: Hands-on experience working in ISO cleanrooms, operating FlatSat/hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testbeds, and conducting harness/power/data integration.
- Environmental Testing Background: Practical experience participating in environmental testing campaigns (TVAC, vibration, thermal cycling) at external testing facilities.
- Troubleshooting Rigor: A methodical approach to anomaly detection, root-cause investigation, and procedure retesting.
- Language
Skills:
Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; working knowledge of Spanish is highly advantageous. Nice-to-have skills
- Electrical Test Equipment: Hands-on experience with electronic laboratory equipment and tools (oscilloscope, power supply, electronic load, …).
- Data Interfaces: Experience with data interfaces such as CAN, RS422/485, I2C, SPI.
- Radiofrecuency: Knowledge in RF test equipment (Spectrum Analyzer, VNA).
- Programming
Skills:
Knowledge and experience in developing test scripts for automated testing in Python or an equivalent language is a strong asset.
We Offer
- Hybrid Work Model: Flexible working model balancing hands-on cleanroom campaigns with hybrid preparation/documentation tasks.
- Work-Life Balance: Adaptable
working hours
.
- Structured Onboarding: A welcoming onboarding process including assignment of a dedicated buddy during your first months.
