HRIS / HCM Enterprise Architect

- Freelance We are supporting a major global transformation programme seeking an experienced HRIS / HCM Enterprise Architect to define the future architecture of a complex global HR technology landscape . The ideal candidate will have strong Workday experience , although experienced HRIS/HCM Enterprise Architects from other enterprise platforms will also be considered. This is a strategic architecture position focused on taking a holistic view of the HR ecosystem , defining the target application landscape and integration strategy, and providing architectural direction to delivery teams. The Opportunity The organisation is transitioning approximately 30 HR applications into a new operating landscape, with 70-80 applications requiring integration . You will help define how these applications, platforms, integrations, data and infrastructure come together to create a scalable and sustainable future-state architecture.

Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end HR architecture , covering Hire-to-Retire and Time-to-Pay .
- Define the target HRIS/HCM application and integration strategy .
- Architect integrations across 70-80 applications, including Finance, Payroll and Time Management .
- Take a holistic view of the wider HR application landscape and identify opportunities for rationalisation.
- Cover the broader HR ecosystem including Talent, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Time Management and Core HCM .
- Define integration patterns across APIs, middleware, data and extended infrastructure.
- Establish architecture principles, standards and technology decisions.




- Provide technical direction and guidance to delivery teams responsible for implementation.
- Assess architectural risks, dependencies and technical debt.
- Produce clear architecture documentation and models using the C4 Model .
- Support the development of the long-term HR technology roadmap. What We're Looking For
- Strong experience as an Enterprise Architect, HRIS Architect or HCM Architect .
- Workday experience is preferred , but strong experience across other enterprise HRIS/HCM platforms will be considered.
- Proven experience owning end-to-end Hire-to-Retire and Time-to-Pay architecture.
- Experience across complex, multi-application HR environments.
- Strong understanding of integration architecture, APIs, middleware and enterprise applications .
- Experience integrating HR platforms with Finance, Payroll and wider corporate systems .
- Understanding of extended infrastructure, security and data architecture.
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate business requirements into practical architecture.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across global, cross-functional teams.
- C4 Model architecture experience is required. Why This Opportunity?
